Exhibition "METAPHYSICAL HEAD". Second phase Automatic translate
February 19, 2015 the Fund of the artist Mikhail Shemyakin presented the exhibition "METAPHYSICAL HEAD" from the large-scale project "The Imaginary Museum of Mikhail Shemyakin. ANTHOLOGY OF FORMS ".
The continuation of the topic “Metaphysical Head” is the opening of the second stage of the exhibition. The exposure remained unchanged, demonstrating the result of many years of research by Mikhail Shemyakin in the field of studying the metaphysical shape of the head. It presents the works of leading Western European masters such as Pablo Picasso, Amadeo Modigliani, Constantine Brancusi, Jean Arp, who peered into the forms of tribal art in Africa and Oceania, finding inspiration for their paintings and sculptural heads and busts.
The scientific collection of Mikhail Shemyakin allows you to see the metaphysical head in its most diverse forms - monumental sculpture, masks, amulets, architectural drawings, Persian rugs, medieval knightly helmets and the Russian icon, which, according to the author of the project, is the highest manifestation of metaphysics in art.
The second stage of the exhibition presents an updated hall with artworks performed by modern authors in a wide variety of techniques - from sculpture to video art, and also for the first time introduces the viewer to the works of students of Mikhail Shemyakin. The drawings created by students of the Voronezh Academy of Arts embody the basic principles of metaphysical search, as a result of knowledge acquired by young artists from their teacher. They bring an atmosphere of continuity to the exhibition thanks to their proximity to the original graphic improvisations in the transformations of Mikhail Shemyakin.
