The exhibition exposition consists of about 40 works performed in the technique of oil painting: portraits, landscapes, still lifes, genre compositions. Their authors are well-known Russian artists Konstantin Miroshnik and Natalia Kurguzova-Miroshnik. They call their own style "realism with an admixture of modernism." Their paintings always evoke a whole gamut of emotions and feelings in the audience. The works of Natalia and Konstantin were exhibited in leading museums in the country and abroad, including in Moscow, St. Petersburg, New York, Vienna, and are also stored in domestic and foreign private collections.
Konstantin Miroshnik and Natalia Kurguzova-Miroshnik are an unusual married couple of painters. Many canvases are written by them together, in four hands. They do not have creative disputes - both students of the great Ilya Glazunov. “We look in one direction and love the same painting: Serov, Repin, Surikov. These are our guidelines on which we rely, ”they say. It is also important that from the very beginning of their career, artists have been looking for a source of inspiration and creativity in the high spirituality of art, in Christian culture, in Orthodoxy.
The Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov became both alma-mater and the place that united them into a creative and family union. Before this meeting in Moscow, everyone had their own path to art. Natalia - our countrywoman - was born and raised in Kaluga and since childhood dreamed of becoming an artist. Parents - Evgenia Ivanovna and Vladimir Aleksandrovich - strongly supported this her desire. They sent to the art studio, then to the children’s art school in the class of the famous watercolor painter Georgy Gerasimov in Kaluga. And believing in the daughter’s talent, they were not afraid to let go of one at a very young age to study at the Moscow secondary art boarding school at the Institute named after V.I. Surikova. Acquaintance and communication with Ilya Glazunov (Natalya studied with his daughter Vera) became decisive for the formation of a young artist. She receives higher art education at the Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov. In order to enter there, I had to overcome the master’s persistent conviction that the woman had no place in art. Only three girls were accepted - including Natalia. In these years, she is formed as a serious artist, turns to complex, sometimes tragic topics from the history of Russia.
Konstantin was born in Simferopol in a military family. He graduated with honors from the pedagogical school in Yuryev-Polsky, having received the specialty of a teacher of drawing and drawing. For several years he worked as a teacher in a rural school in Ukraine. He entered the Academy of Ilya Glazunov, having endured a huge competition - about 100 people per place. In his student years, he had the opportunity to participate in the painting of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior (his fresco “The Last Judgment” is located directly above the entrance to the temple), as well as in the design of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
An important assessment of the work and talents of Konstantin and Natalia was their participation in 1994 in the exhibition of works by I.S. Glazunov and his students in the Manege. The first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin was delighted with the picturesque work of Natalia using the grisaille technique. In 1997, Natalia and Konstantin successfully completed their studies at the Academy.
One of the first works of young artists - the equestrian parade portrait “Prince Vladimir Monomakh” was presented to the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on his 50th birthday, and still adorns the President’s reception in the Kremlin. This event was a serious recognition of the talent of artists.
According to Konstantin Miroshnik, as an artist he took place thanks to two people - Ilya Glazunov and rock musician Alexander Barykin, whose friendship began back in 1991. Konstantin himself composes songs, playing them with a guitar.
As he himself says: “I am a vocalist and songwriter of the group“ Morning Monet. ” It was organized by my friend Alexander Barykin. This is a wonderful, extraordinary person, to whom I owe not only my musical, but also artistic creativity. ” In fairness, it should be added that under the influence of Konstantin, Alexander Barykin was seriously interested in painting.
At the opening day of the exhibition - the first in Kaluga - Konstantin promises to present not only his pictorial, but also musical creativity.
