June 20 at 16.00 in the Estate V.P. Sukacheva (st. December Events, 112) opens an exhibition of Moscow artist Irina Levasheva "Dreams of Lake Baikal. Impressions". On display are paintings on scrolls in the style of Japanese monochrome painting, inspired by travels in Russia and Japan.
Japanese monochrome ink painting of Suybokug is a whole art of strokes and lines, conveying the character and emotional state of the artist. Such painting requires great skill, since corrections in the process of creating a picture are impossible, because mascara is instantly absorbed into the material, which is handmade rice paper or silk. Irina Levasheva (professional restorer) became interested in this unusual technique more than 15 years ago and has since achieved great success. The author is a member of the All-Japan Society of Suybokug Artists, the Sakura Kai Society of Japanese Painting, and is a certified teacher of Suybokug painting at the Ikenobo Center for Japanese Arts. Irina Levasheva’s works are in museums in Russia, Ivolginsky datsan, private collections and funds abroad (in Japan, the USA, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Egypt).
The exhibition of Irina Levasheva is unique to Irkutsk. The artist herself (participant of 57 creative exhibitions, 19 of which are personal) for the first time presents her work in the Angara region. The paintings are made in the form of silk scrolls in compliance with all the subtleties of traditional national painting. Most of the work is dedicated to Baikal.
On display are 63 scrolls. On the opening day, visitors will be able to personally chat with the author, and for everyone, Irina Levasheva will conduct a master class on traditional Japanese painting.
The exhibition will open on June 20 at 16.00 in the Estate of V.P. Sukacheva (st. December Events, 112) and will work until July 7. Entrance to the opening is free. Phone for inquiries: 53-12-24.
