The personal exhibition of Ekaterina Permyakova "City" is geared towards local lore residents of Moscow. The aim of the exhibition is to draw attention to the historical and cultural heritage of the city, as well as to get acquainted with different architectural styles of old Moscow.
The graphic sheets of the artist are united by the theme of the Moscow landscape. Each drawing is a certain point on the map of the capital, recognizable in small things and details. There are no traditional postcard views in the project. The works show the places loved by Muscovites that have preserved the spirit of the old city: quiet streets, lanes, gateways and arches in the city center.
The author traces the layers of historical eras in urban architecture with particular interest. After all, it is the mixture of architectural styles, the proximity of the merchant, noble and Soviet past that create a unique and inimitable atmosphere of Moscow.
Graphic sheets are made in gouache. The matte layer and pearl shades of gouache most accurately convey the color of Moscow streets.
Ekaterina Permyakova is an artist, graduated from the Faculty of Art and Graphics of the Moscow State Pedagogical University with honors, participates in Russian and international exhibitions, projects of the Moscow Union of Artists and the Russian Union of Artists, winner of the Russian Art Week graphics competition (2009), regular participant in the Artlitfond contemporary art auctions, participant of the festival of printed graphics in Tsaritsyno (2010) and the exhibition "Moscow and Muscovites II" (2019).
