On March 11, in the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx str., 23), the exhibition "Exquisite motive of flowers", dedicated to the coming of spring, the awakening of nature and the arrival of warmth, begins. The exposition includes more than 30 objects of painting and decorative and applied art from the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum.
Floral motifs are found in different genres of painting - still life, landscape, portrait. This, without exaggeration, eternal theme is reflected both in the works of the classics of the Irkutsk school, and in the work of contemporary artists. The truly bright spring exposition includes the best works of the masters of Siberian art: Anatoly Kostovsky, Anatoly Alekseev, Vladimir Tetenkin, Alexey Zhibinov, Vitaly Smagin, Anatoly Purlik, as well as a younger generation of artists. On the example of the works presented at the exhibition, one can trace how the authors of the XX-XXI centuries developed the theme of depicting flowers in their work. Each master painted flowers in his own creative manner. In their stylistic searches, artists turned to different areas of art - realism, symbolism, impressionism.
The exposition is supplemented with works of decorative and applied art: dishes and vases painted with floral motifs by Raisa Alyoshina, which became the hallmark of the Khaitinsky porcelain factory in the 1970s, are presented here.
The exhibition "Flowers, an exquisite motive" will open on March 11 at the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Art Museum (Karl Marx St., 23) and will run until April 4. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, visiting the museum is still possible only by appointment (tel.: 33-43-89). The museum has a mask mode.
