Gallery "C", 1st floor.
The main gallery of Artmuza will open an exhibition of the outrageous artist, poet and permanent decorator of the Auktyon group Artur Molev: his new personal exhibition in the museum consists of “naive” works, with which he passes into another of his many roles - “scooter ninety”.
The most reliable definition of Arthur’s work was given in 1994 by the painter Vadim Ovchinnikov - "children’s expressionism". Artur Molev himself has been using it since that time, in whose canvases one would like to see artless children’s drawings - they are so bright, colorful, filled with the simple joys of life. Although this first impression reflects the artist’s outward mood, in fact, there is an impressive background behind him: Arthur is a member of the Hopeless Painters association, a student of Zaslavsky from a young age, a graduate of Mukha and, like all nomads, has a very wide range of interests and open mind. In different years of his life, he traveled and emigrated, and in his native Leningrad he lived in the then creative squats just in the period of their becoming the main centers of alternative art.
As an "architect"-landscape painter, Arthur Molev showed himself at an exhibition in Artmuz a little over a year ago, presenting to the public original images of "towns" that influenced his personality. In the Badya project, Molev will show colorful paintings with plots and characters, the mood of which is best described by his own quote: “I treat life with childlike enthusiasm, and surprise with modernity.” And this exhibition is dedicated to big and small children, to everyone who does what they love.
The exhibition will open with an opening day on January 28, 2022, at which the artist will draw the author’s linocut and collections of his poems. The exhibition will run daily until February 23 with free admission. Curator - Marina Gurevich.
