The personal exhibition of paintings and drawings by Anatoly Pogrebny will open on January 21 at the Siberian Art Gallery of the Irkutsk Art Museum named after V.P. Sukachev. Anatoly Pogrebnoy lives and works in Ust-Ilimsk; his works are kept in private collections in Irkutsk, Chita, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Moscow, other Russian cities and abroad. In 2015, the artist celebrated his 60th anniversary, and the exhibition is dedicated, including, to this round date.

The exhibition presents various techniques - painting, graphics, as well as different genres - portraits, landscapes, still lifes, plot compositions. Some works have already been exhibited, others are completely new. In particular, at the exhibition for the first time two monumental canvases will be presented to the general public: “Four Women” and “Expectation”, reflecting the philosophical view of the artist on the problem of the relationship of man with time and space. Other exhibits include works from the Sewing Machines series, a graphic series of portraits, Austrian Rural Landscape, Still Life with a Pomegranate, and Puppets. Warehouse ”- about 50 works in total.
According to art historians, Anatoly Pogrebnoy created a unique artistic style, his own style of writing. “Strong emotional tension, realized in finely executed details, is sometimes replaced by fantastic and invented ones, which gives the work a sharpness and freshness. We add that certain works by the author can be seen without even going to the museum. In the windows of the Gallery, which overlook Karl Marx Street, there are several paintings by the artist.
