This exhibition was the last for the curator and art critic Vitaly Vladimirovich Patsyukov (1939-2021).
Vitaly Patsyukov has curated hundreds of art exhibitions, both local and international. In his projects, Vitaly Vladimirovich combined fine arts, music, poetry, performance, cinema and new technologies.
He has written a large number of texts on the problems and characters of the modern art scene, from masters to aspiring authors. For a number of artists, a serious analysis of their work and the opportunity to participate in major projects devoted to topical issues of contemporary art have played an important role in their creative career.
Vitaly Vladimirovich was already working on the exhibition "The Same Apple Tree" from the hospital. He expressed his ideas, discussed the details of the exposition in telephone conversations with his wife and artists Elena Utenkova-Tikhonova and Mikhail Tikhonov.
The exhibition "The Same Apple Tree" is a kind of journey into the space of your family. When two meet, at first they only see each other, but gradually the angle of view widens. It turns out that behind each are parents, close and distant relatives and not only people, but also the landscape, the land on which their ancestors lived and raised their children.
It is impossible to return to the past, but it does not disappear into nowhere, only beacons remain from it, along which you can return to its place. The old apple tree, the only one that survived, became such a beacon for artists.
The idea of the project originates from the book of the same name, which has two authors: Elena Utenkova-Tikhonova, Mikhail Tikhonov, and one hero - Andryusha, their son. But the book overflowed its shores, the curator Vitaly Patsyukov suggested talking about the same in other pictorial languages - in the real space of the exhibition hall.
The exhibition "The Same Apple Tree" will begin its work on December 3, 2021 in the "Belyaevo" gallery of the "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" association.
