On February 29 at 16.00, the exhibition “In Harmony with Nature”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the artist Pavel Avenarius, opens at the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx St., 23). In the exhibition you can see about 50 paintings and graphic works, representing the author’s many years of creative work.
In his work, Pavel Anatolyevich is a supporter of realism. He does not accept conventions; he loves clear drawings and correct perspective construction. And at the same time, each of his works has a spiritual beginning. The main theme of creativity is nature. With a sketchbook in hand, the artist traveled throughout Lake Baikal and worked a lot on Olkhon Island. His works reveal the complex nature of Siberian nature and convey the grandeur and harmony of protected places. The simplicity and depth of the colors enhances the effect of monumentality.
You can also find city landscapes on Pavel Anatolyevich’s canvases: these are views of the old wooden Irkutsk. Here there is an appeal to aesthetic examples of the cultural heritage of our country.
Pavel Anatolyevich Avenarius went through a difficult and unusual life and creative path. The future artist was born in Moscow in 1944. In 1949, the family moved to Irkutsk. After school, at the insistence of his father, the author graduated from the Military Aviation School in Irkutsk and the Higher Military School named after. J. Alksnis in Riga. Pavel Anatolyevich served in the Air Force for twenty-eight years. But he did not give up painting, having completed five courses in absentia at the Faculty of Easel Painting and Graphics at the University of Arts in Moscow.
Since 1995, Pavel Avenarius has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. His works are in the Omsk and Novosibirsk art galleries, and in the Ostankino gallery in Moscow. Paintings by Pavel Avenarius have been added to private collections in Russia, Switzerland, the USA, Poland, Israel, Japan, South Korea, China, Germany and the Netherlands.
