Documentary films about the spiritual space of the peoples of Russia will continue to be shown at the Zarya Automatic translate
On January 25 and 26 at 18:00 in the cinema of the Center for Contemporary Art “Zarya” (Prospect 100 years to Vladivostok, 155, workshop 2), the screening of the OKO Сarnets de Russie documentary series by French director Vincent Moon will continue. This weekend, viewers will be able to see films dedicated to Kalmykia and the Black Earth. Entrance to the sessions is free.
January 25, 18:00 - Kalmykia
The Kalmykia series includes four plots. The first film tells about one of the few groups made up of connoisseurs of Kalmyk folklore and customs - the Erdm folklore-ethnographic ensemble. The second film will show the story of a prominent representative of young performers of the folklore genre Dmitry Sharaev. In the third film, you can see the performance of songs by the dombra genre and the epos “Dzhangar” by Baatr Mandzhiev. And the last film of the Kalmykia series is called Yangdrub, which will tell about the Buddhist ritual in Hurul, the main temple of Kalmykia.
January 26, 18:00 - “Chernozemye”
The Chernozemye series includes 2 plots.
In “Women of the Black Earth Region,” the plot consists of six short films shot with the participation of female ensembles of the Voronezh and Belgorod regions, reflecting the song traditions of the Chernozem region. Vincent Moon chose several remote villages for filming, located on average 200 km from Voronezh on the eastern, western, and southern sides. Despite the small area, the song traditions of this territory turned out to be very diverse - the Cossack roots of the songs of the south of the Black Earth region, the “booming” singing of Belgorod villages, the songs of shipbuilders from Petrovsky shipyards and the old city romances of the east of the Voronezh region. The last (sixth) film was shot with the participation of the ensemble of the Voronezh Academy of Arts "Volya".
"Belgorod Monastery" is a film-portrait of an Orthodox cave monastery located 160 km from Voronezh on the Don River. The shooting took place during the festive liturgy on the feast of the Protection of the Holy Virgin on October 14, 2012.
Recall that the series of OKO films Carnets de Russie was created during the crowdsourcing project, which started on February 5, 2011. On this day, the first public invitation to participate in the project was published on social networks: any person living in Russia could offer to include their city (or other settlement) in the tour route and join in the organization of filming. For the year letters were received from many points of Russia: more than 100 people from Kabardino-Balkaria, Ossetia, Adygea, Chechnya, Dagestan, Kalmykia, Volgograd, Voronezh and Belgorod regions, Karelia, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Suzdal and took part in the organization of the tour Moscow. The films “North Ossetia + Circassia” and “Chechnya” were shown on January 18 and 19, 2014 at the Zarya Center for Contemporary Art.
