Deineki, with the participation of the ART-WINDOW cultural platform - Alisher Usmanov’s charity foundation’s project “Art, Science and Sport”, presents the exhibition “Masterpieces of Russian Painting from the Collection of the Personal Collections Department of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin ", which will be held in the exhibition hall of the gallery. A.A. Deinecki from September 20 to November 10, 2019. The exhibition will feature 38 works of domestic art of the XVIII – XX centuries. Viewers will see the work of the largest masters of Russian art V.L. Borovikovsky, V. G. Perov, I. I. Shishkin, N. S. Goncharova and other artists. This is the second large-scale exhibition of the Pushkin Museum in the Kursk region.
The exhibition "Masterpieces of Russian painting from the collection of personal collections of the Pushkin Museum im. A. Pushkin ”gives an idea of the various stages in the development of Russian fine art: from portraits of the 18th century, realistic paintings of the Wanderers, retrospective paintings of the Moscow artists to avant-garde compositions of the early 20th century. All works were donated to the department of the Museum of Personal Collections Department of the State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin from Russian collectors. In 1985, on the initiative of a collector, a well-known public figure, Doctor of Art Criticism I. S. Zilberstein, in close collaboration with the Director of the Pushkin Museum I. A. Antonova, the department "Museum of Personal Collections" was formed (now - the department of personal collections). The emergence of the department radically changed the situation in relation to private gathering in the country. An example of I. S. Zilberstein, who donated his collection of Western European and Russian art, proved the social necessity of this kind of activity, which contributed to his "rehabilitation" in society, emphasized his essential purpose - philanthropy. Over 40 collections and individual works were donated to the Pushkin Museum by private collectors and by the artists themselves or their heirs.
At present, the funds of the department include more than eight thousand works of Russian and Western European art of the 15th – 20th centuries.
The exposition includes works by artists of the Russian school of the 18th – 20th centuries: V. L. Borovikovsky, V. G. Perov, A. P. Bogolyubov, I. I. Shishkin, S. F. Shchedrin, I. E. Repin, P. P. Konchalovsky, N. S. Goncharova, P. I. Petrovichev, L. V. Turzhansky, V. V. Perepletchikov, V. K. Byalynitsky-Biruli and other masters.
Patronage of art, patronage of art is a noble feature of private collecting. For example, in 2013, a painting by Frans Hals “Evangelist Mark” was donated to the museum by a Russian philanthropist and businessman Alisher Usmanov.
Marina Loshak, Director of the Pushkin Museum. A. Pushkin: “Over the years of its existence as part of the Pushkin Museum, the department of personal collections, along with a large number of new exhibits, has gained many friends and like-minded people among amazing people — collectors who have devoted themselves to the noble cause of finding and preserving works of art. Thanks to the established close creative ties between the museum staff and Moscow collectors and artists’ heirs, the department of personal collections conducts an active and fruitful exhibition work. We hope that acquaintance with the best examples of Russian painting from the collection of our museum will arouse great interest and delight visitors to the exhibition, and will further strengthen cultural ties between the cities of our country. ”
Fatima Mukhomejan, deputy director of Alisher Usmanov’s charity foundation “Art, Science and Sport”: “With all the diversity and richness of cultural life in the regions, exhibitions of large museums are always a bright event, since paintings of this level rarely go outside the storehouses, their travels involve a lot of nuances, difficulties, secrets. We are pleased to give such beautiful events, to open up additional opportunities for people. This year, residents of the Kursk and Belgorod regions in the framework of cooperation between the cultural platform ART-WINDOW, the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin, the Kursk Picture Gallery named after A. A. Deineki will be able to see the works of Russian artists of the XVIII – XX centuries from the collection of the personal collections department of the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin. I am sure that the exposition of the exhibition “Masterpieces of Russian Art” will leave a long emotional mark on the audience. I congratulate all the exhibitors and wish them vivid impressions and inspiration, which lies behind the beautiful forms of painting. ”
