Director Yuri Norshtein will present the book “Snow on the Grass” as part of his anniversary exhibition at Altmans Gallery Automatic translate

Exhibition “The artist draws a film. Yarbusova and Norshteyn "opened in the Altmans Gallery on September 15. The exhibition includes works from the cycle devoted to the animated films “Hedgehog in the Fog”, “Tale of Tales”, “Heron and Crane”, “Overcoat”. During the exhibition, you can see working sketches and storyboards for films. Over the course of the month, the Altmans Gallery will feature sketches and layouts that recreate the beloved and familiar frames of cult films. In addition, during the exhibition, guests can purchase author’s giclee with the signature of the artist, souvenirs, as well as the books “Hedgehog in the Fog”, “Fox and the Hare” with the artist’s sketches, as well as the famous book by Yuri Norshtein “Snow on the Grass”.
The partner of the event is Otkritie Bank. Cooperation between the Bank and Yuri Norshtein began many years ago as part of a large-scale project with the Vera Hospice Assistance Fund. Starting in 2012, you can make a donation at the bank’s branches and receive a notebook, a mug, a cover for a passport, a cover for I-Pad with a picture of a Hedgehog. All funds, including cash-back from credit cards with a Hedgehog, are transferred to the Vera fund - the only fund in Russia that helps hospices and their patients.

Films of Yuri Norshtein awarded numerous international prizes. In 1984, in Los Angeles (USA), the film "Tale of Tales" was recognized as the best film of all time, and in June 2002 the Zagreb Animation Festival published the results of the international four-year survey of film critics: "The Best Animated Film of All Time" Tale of Tales. In 2003, in Tokyo (Japan), the film “Hedgehog in the Fog” was recognized as the best film of all time, the second named the film “Tale of Tales”.
Exhibitions of Yuri Norshtein together with Francesca Yarbusova previously took place in the Perm Gallery, Cinema Museum and the Museum of the East in Moscow, in the City Hall of Paris (Hotel de Ville, John the Baptist Hall), in the Djiburi Museum and Chihiro Museum in Tokyo, in various prefectures in Japan, in the department personal collections of the Pushkin Museum im. Altmans Gallery opened its doors in November 2015 at Novinsky Passage.
