"Scenery". Personal exhibition of Sergei Danchev Automatic translate

As part of the exhibition project "Contemporary Artists of Russia", the Konstantinovsky Palace presents the works of the contemporary St. Petersburg artist Sergei Danchev.

The artist’s career began in 1996 at the Ivanovo Art School, after graduating from which he entered the St. Petersburg Academic Institute named after I. Repin at the faculty of painting. The professional development of the artist is inextricably linked with the Academy of Arts to this day. As a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Painting, S. Danchev makes an invaluable contribution not only to the academic education of a new generation of artists, but also to the development of contemporary art in Russia.

S. Danchev was awarded numerous medals and diplomas, and in 2016 he was awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts for his great contribution to the organization and participation in the Traveling All-Russian Exhibition "Picturesque Russia". An extensive list of various thematic international and domestic exhibitions, in which the artist took part, testifies to his boundless creative possibilities.

Creating canvases in the high historical genre, S. Danchev does not at all detract from the still life or landscape, giving the latter a special role in his work. The exposition presents more than thirty paintings, revealing the diversity of the landscape genre. Lyrical rural motifs or architectural urban landscapes reflect various tasks set for the artist, but the invariable goal of any of them is to create an artistic image, a symbiosis of reflection of nature with the author’s specific experiences through composition, color and light relations.

The personal exhibition of Sergei Danchev demonstrates the multifaceted talent of the modern academic painter, as well as the endless possibilities of artistic interpretation of the landscape, as one of the main genres of painting.
