On November 12, in the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx, 23), a personal exhibition of one of the leading artists of decorative and applied art of the Far East Valery Levatayev "From Amur to Baikal" begins. The exposition includes 40 works created using the technique of hot enamel. Expressive panels saturated with color invariably attract the attention of viewers and receive the highest marks of art critics.
Figurative expressionism in Valery Levataev’s enamels is a rather rare phenomenon in modern fine art, therefore his works are always recognizable for their imagery, creative manner and impeccability of execution. However, the richness of motives and the seeming ease of the birth of images were developed by constant creative search - each new work is born in a struggle with the plastic concept of previous works, and this process is filled with qualitative characteristics, is distinguished by the progressiveness and organicness of self-development. The author’s technologies discovered by him impart special depth and expressiveness to historical and mythological subjects, to which the artist often turns. So, one of the peaks of his work was a cycle of works dedicated to the development of the Amur lands, and a gallery of images of prominent personalities, who took part in the development of the Russian Far East, showed the bright, individual skill of the artist. The new possibilities of easel enamel revealed by him acquired a special meaning and made a significant contribution to the development of Russian artistic culture.
Valery Levataev is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, a permanent participant in all-Russian, regional, regional and international exhibitions. The author’s works are kept in the collections of state museums in Birobidzhan, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Yaroslavl, galleries in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok.
Valery Levataev’s exhibition "From Amur to Baikal" will be open at the Gallery of Siberian Art (Karl Marx St., 23) from November 12 to December 6. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, visiting the museum is possible only by appointment (tel.: 33-43-89). The museum has a mask mode.
