October 10, 2019 at 16.00 in the National Art Gallery of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan, the Kremlin, the Khazine Museum Complex, 3rd entrance) will open the personal exhibition of the Honored Artist of Russia and Bashkortostan Rinat Zufarovich Harisov.
Rinat Harisov was born in 1953 in a small aul Lenin Bulyak of the Buraevsky district in the territory of Bashkortostan. In 1972, he graduated from the Ufa Pedagogical College, in 1978 - the art department of the Ufa State Institute of Arts. In 1982, after writing the painting “Embroidered Handkerchief”, in fact, it laid, along with other masters in this direction, the foundation of an “ethnic” avant-garde based on the traditions of folk art of the Tatars and Bashkirs.
Nationality, as a phenomenon of worldview, is genetically inherent in the creative nature of Rinat Haris. From childhood, the artist absorbed folk wisdom through songs, proverbs, sayings, the whole lifestyle of the Tatar village. Through the years, he carried this love of folk sources, inherited from his grandparents. In his works, he admires embroideries from the old chest, bright patchwork quilts, patterns of carpets, forms of kumgans, flowers on window sills and rockers on girl’s shoulders, multicolored painted village houses, everything that forms the life and aesthetics of the space of the village.
Nationality manifests itself in the manner of writing, in its naturalness and simplicity. Subjects and images literally “spill over” onto the canvas without any stretch: the artist does not like to limit them to the outlined frames of the paintings and, drawing beyond the two-dimensional plane of the canvas, continues their life in reality. This connection with living reality is also supported by witty inscriptions that reveal not only the content of the paintings, but also the meaning of the visual symbols abound in them. Plunging into the world of folklore imagery, finding a source of inspiration in it, Rinat Haris combines image and word, painting and folk poetry.
The rare unity of creative design, composition and color in the paintings arises on the basis of the free manifestation of talent, followed by many years of hard work and work on oneself. The artist is at the same time a philosopher, a historian, and a poet: synthetically models the people’s perception of happiness. Behind this is his authorial position, his attitude to the world, the essence of which is Love. Therefore, he is loved by his grateful spectators.
The personal exhibition of Rinat Zufarovich Kharisov, which opens in the National Art Gallery of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, presents works created by the artist at different periods of life, from the author’s collection, the Pushkin Museum of the RT and the Fond im. S. Marjani.
The exhibition runs until November 10, 2019.
