The personal exhibition of the Italian artist Vesna Pavan is the first event of the upcoming 2016 series of exhibitions of contemporary Italian art organized as part of the IAR project - Italian Art In Russia (Italian Art in Russia).
The exhibition was organized by ARS NOVA with the support of RUSSIAN ART WEEK (project of the World Fund of Arts) and in collaboration with the Black Dog ART Gallery - Red Hills.
Vesna Pavan is a vivid representative of contemporary Italian art, her creations are largely based on the world of fashion, design and pop art. In her artistic activity, she knows how to update from one cycle to another, drawing inspiration from specific topics and experimenting with various techniques that meet not only the formal requirements of execution and content, but also carry a message that is conveyed by the power of color and images in her works. The works of the artist Vesna Pavan deny the value of the visible and are determined by the culture of painting associated with iconography, in which a woman appears as an archetype and symbol of the theater of life.
To emphasize the crafty seduction of the heroines of her works, the artist, first of all, focuses on the most characteristic features that add femininity to the image: well-designed red lips that give a cheerful impression; chiseled legs and silhouettes, which, however, are depicted as very light, and even sometimes soaring; poses that resemble fashion photos, with their inherent style and sharpness, capable of evoking tactile sensations from clothes, stockings, corsages and hats.
Vesna does not praise classical beauty, but plays with the style and reduction of female forms almost to archetypes and ideograms, which, paradoxically and ironically, represent all women and their desires.
Vesna created her own color concept, known as Pavanian Chromatism. Her ongoing searches are divided into various collections, such as Signs Feel, Orient, Minimal, Fusion, Fusion Vogue, Skin.
The exhibition will feature works from the “Signs Feel” and “Fusion Vogue” cycles that have received great recognition in Italy and Europe.
