July 5 in the gallery "Nagornaya" Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" will be the opening of the exhibition "Neighbors", which will take place as part of the program to support the young art MMOMA and the Parallel program of the 6th Moscow International Biennale of Young Art.
Gallery "Nagornaya" has a long and rich history. This is the first state exhibition hall, created outside the center of Moscow in 1978. For forty years with the gallery and the area many wonderful and talented artists were associated. Some opened their first exhibition here, others lived nearby, the third had a workshop nearby. The project "Neighbors" is designed to introduce different generations of neighbors - artists and spectators, to show the history of the district and galleries through the work of 20 artists.
The exposition will include: painting, installations, sculpture, photos, as well as archival materials collected on the basis of a preliminary study conducted by the curator. The project "Neighbors" is the result of working with local creative communities.
"For example, in one of the works the artist decided to consider the system of lawn fences from the point of view of the language, as part of a certain grammatical system by means of which the city talks with its inhabitants. She began sketching out various designs for the design of lawn barriers in her area, which were formed in 33 units by the number of letters of the Russian alphabet, although these are not letters, but ideograms or hieroglyphs. Surprisingly, after the work was done, in the area where the artist lives, most of the lawns were removed "- Alya Hestanti, curator of the project, about the work of Ekaterina Isayeva.
