Graphic artists Igor Khandozhko, Nina Russkikh and Anna Shaburova present to the viewer their new project - an exhibition of their works, demonstrating the mystery of birth and the creation of etching.
We are used to the fact that the exhibition is the final result of the artist’s long work. The uniqueness of this exposition is that it allows you to trace the entire path of creating an etching, from the original design, drawing, to the sketch, etching plate and the final print.
The technique of creating etching is very complex and is very flexible. The initial drawing - a sketch gives only a preliminary direction to the artist’s plan. Uneven and repeated etching of the metal plate allows you to emphasize the richness of the stroke, deepen the lines, highlight or soften individual parts of the composition, and in the final etching print always appears what was not in the original sketch.
Etching is a true fine art that requires high skill. The authors of the works presented at the exhibition mastered the technique of creating etchings in the workshop of the School of Watercolors S.N. Andriyaka under the guidance of the Moscow graphic artist Alexei Popov. All three are artists with different creative styles and orientations. Nina Russkikh and Anna Shaburova, architects by profession, often use architectural motifs in their work, and Crimean landscapes are often found in the works of former Crimean Igor Khandozhko. At the same time, the authors are not limited to a realistic image of the world. In many of their works symbolic tendencies are strong.
