As part of the 46th Russian Antique Salon, which will be held in Gostiny Dvor from 25 to 29 November 2020, the ART-SOYUZ gallery will present the works of the artist Nikita Makarov. The gallery’s stand will be located in a special section "Contemporary Art / Design" within the framework of the "Art Moscow Program", designed to include contemporary art in the context of historical cultural values in the context of the transformation of the exhibition into a new format.
This fall, all spheres of collecting will be presented in a single space of the Gostiny Dvor atrium - from antiques to Contemporary Art. The combination of masterpieces of classical painting and sculpture, works of modernism, collectible design and contemporary art on one site is one of the stable and long-term global trends, which is followed from year to year by more and more significant international art fairs.
The concept of the ART-SOYUZ gallery stand reflects the principle of “art without borders”.
Contemporary art collections are not limited to time, geographic and stylistic boundaries. A new approach to collecting reflects the freedom of choice, individual taste and character of the collector, provides additional opportunities for a creative approach, because to compose something whole from works of different eras, trends and genres that carries a single artistic message and emotional charge to the audience is also a kind of art.
Nikita Makarov writes, contrary to all trends and ideas about contemporary art, mainly works with tempera and acrylic on wooden boards.
The main body of Makarov’s works consists of almost jewelry compositions enclosed in a precious setting. These meticulously arranged, subtly written, as if glowing from the inside, images focus on the viewer’s gaze, make him come close and examine the details, adjust to a slow, thoughtful, contemplative mode of perception.
“The artist programmatically affirms the fusion of genre painting and landscape in his work. He transforms every real landscape through his internal cultural code, based on the artistic experience of many generations, he passes natural images through his ideas of beauty, brings them to an abstract ideal. Makarov’s mission in art is to capture the elusive, elusive beauty of this world, to decompose the symphony of color into hundreds of sparkling shades, to build a world perfect in a frozen moment - and present it to the audience. "
