From March 5 to April 28, 2019, the Academy of Fine Arts and Drawing presents the works of the academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Andrei Yesionov (Tashkent, 1963), a master of contemporary Russian fine art.
The exhibition “Neonomads and Autochtones”, organized under the patronage of the city of Florence and the Tuscany region, conceived in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Arts, supervised by critic Alexander Borovsky, will be open for free entry to the exhibition hall of the Academy of Fine Arts and Art, on Via Ricasoli n. 68, in Florence.
The name of the exhibition comes from the Neonomada series of works, an analysis devoted to a structural event taking place all over the world: humanity is in motion, from large migration flows to mass tourism. This phenomenon is not visible from those who travel or migrate, but from an unprecedented point of view, from a stranger who is able to catch the nuances and paradoxes of this stream. The exhibition tells about the changes and contradictions of mankind, which are in constant motion, with the help of 42 works taken from eight different series of watercolors, with the help of which the artist creates a critical, surreal and sharp reflection around the scenario of the capital’s modernity and humanity in it.
The exhibition “Neonomads and Autochtones” is one of the main Italian art events in 2019 and will be the first stage of a series of personal exhibitions aimed at popularizing the art, art research and poetry of Andrei Yesionov in Italy. After Florence, the exhibition will continue in Rome, where in September 2019 the artist’s works will be exhibited in the magnificent setting of the San Salvatore Museum in Lauro.
The exhibition is open from March 5 to April 28, 2019 at the following hours:
