On June 21, the exhibition “Natalia Leonova. Russian estate. Interiors in watercolor. The exposition will feature 40 watercolor works - the interiors of Pavlovsk, Kuskovo, Ostankino and other Russian palaces and estates. The author of watercolors is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the Moscow Union of Artists, an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts - Natalia Leonova.
The artist specializes in book illustration, and in the process of moving to this genre of art, she became interested in the Russian estate and its interiors. The starting point in the work on the interior genre was the Pavlovsk Palace in St. Petersburg. For several years, the artist devoted herself to creating her unique collection of watercolor and graphic interiors, working from nature in famous palaces, museums in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Subtle and painstakingly executed watercolors depicting living rooms, studies, music salons, libraries and boudoirs in the spirit of famous interior masters - Eduard Hau, Luigi Premazzi, Konstantin Ukhtomsky, have no analogues among watercolorists of our time. The collection of interiors in watercolor by Natalia Leonova includes about 60 works.
Natalia Leonova’s watercolors are a play of light in the interior space, this is the air that every room breathes. Her works fully convey the unique atmosphere of palace and estate interiors. The exhibition is complemented by pieces of furniture from a mid-19th-century rococo suite, transferred to the Ostafyevo-Russian Parnassus Museum-Estate from the Sheremetevs’ house on Vozdvizhenka.
