MUSEUM OF TOMORROW. Formula for Success Automatic translate
State Museum of Architecture named after A.V. Shchuseva and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in conjunction with the Forum of Museums of Moscow hold a conference “MUSEUM OF TOMORROW. Formula for success. "
October 23, A.V. State Museum of Architecture Shchuseva, st. Vozdvizhenka d. 5/25, Enfilada, Hall 7, 13.30 - 20.00
Museum and exhibition spaces in the 21st century are changing radically. They go into the urban environment, the natural landscape, master the monuments of architecture, abandoned industrial and transport facilities, finally, actively penetrate the media environment and become part of it.
At the same time, there comes the realization that there are many untapped resources in the urban environment. Morally and physically obsolete structures, as well as problematic urban areas should not remain dead zones.
The prerequisites for the unusually active introduction of cultural functions into the originally inappropriate spaces and territories are obvious. Architects, curators and creative leaders offer bold and innovative solutions for the development of cultural institutions, including through "cultural re-profiling of uncultured spaces."
The purpose of the conference is to present the most successful experience in the development of domestic museum and exhibition spaces in the 21st century and to understand what makes up the “formula for success” of such development.
Invited to participate: Marina Loshak (State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin); Sergey Desyatov, Petr Kudryavtsev (Artplay Design Center); Christopher Muravyov-Apostol (House - Museum of Matvey Muravyov-Apostol); Mikhail Mindlin (State Center for Contemporary Art); Dmitry Rodionov (State Central Theater Museum named after A. A. Bakhrushin); Roman Romanov (State Museum of the History of the Gulag); Leonid Agron (Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center); Alina Saprykina (Museum Association Museum of Moscow), Julia Shakhnovskaya (Polytechnic Museum); Vasily Tsereteli (Moscow Museum of Modern Art); Elena Titova (All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art).
The conference involves presenting the experience of the most actively and brightly developing museum and exhibition sites in Moscow, at the end of which a podium discussion will be held to discuss the experience presented. Moderator - Sergey Medvedev, Russian journalist, cinematographer and TV presenter, professor at the Department of Applied Political Science, Higher School of Economics.
As a result of the conference, a DVD-ROM is planned to be devoted to the best practices in the development of museum and exhibition venues in Russia, including monologues of ideologists of art clusters, directors of actively developing museums and galleries, curators and architects.
