On August 17 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. Marx St., 23) the international exhibition “Assumed Another is a Metaphor of Chaos” opens. The art project of the Centaurus group of artists (Austria, Germany) through various forms of art invites viewers to reflect on the concept of chaos as a universal and irresistible form of human being. The exposition includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, poetry, photography, music and video.
This is not the first time the Centaur Art Group has been holding an exhibition at the Irkutsk Art Museum. Ludmila Wolf (Germany) and Erwin Koenig (Austria) have already presented conceptual projects at the junction of the Time and Nothingness art (2009) and Beautiful and Sorrow - Icarus flight (2011) in the Gallery of Siberian Art. Today they are concerned with another philosophical problem. According to the curators, “the exhibition is based on the universal principle of chaos, which is expressed not only as the fundamental principle of being, infinity, emptiness, but also covers various spheres of human life. Thus, chaos is directly connected with cultural concepts - time, space, man, society, and through them with concepts such as space, life, death, love and creativity. ”
Through various forms of art, authors try to comprehend chaos as a universal and irresistible form of human existence, to comprehend chaotic structures and their surreal manifestations. In addition to Erwin Koenig (painting, graphics, poetry) and Ludmila Wolf (photography), the exhibition project is attended by Dai Fujikura from Japan (music, video), as well as the Irkutsk sculptor Leo Serikov with his works.
The exhibition will open on August 17 at 16.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art (K. Marx St., 23) and will run until September 23. Entrance to the opening is free. Phone for inquiries: 21-70-65.
