Abstract art is the most complex form of manifestation of a creative movement in a culture where there are no direct connections with reality. The reality of the material world no longer provides a suitable code for the interpretation of a work of art. The object that exists in time and space is replaced by a combination of clean lines, shapes and color spots that does not correspond to the real object. Abstractionism reduces its artistic work to the creation of meaningless plastic, color, and rhythmic compositions that excite free associations, generate thought movement and emotional effect, but do not carry a certain plot content. Abstractionism is understood as the final and highest stage in the formation of art, "cleansed" itself of objective art.
The international art project NEREALISM unites promising contemporary artists from Sevastopol, Kazan (Russia) and foreign authors (Germany). Sevastopol is represented by the chairman of the Academy of Abstract Art, painter Vladimir Boychenko, Ph.D. in art Ksenia Gorbunova, photographer Yuri Manko and graphic artist Anna Sorokina. Kazan is represented by members of the Union of Artists of the USSR and Russia Viktor Arshinov, Ilya Artamonov, Makhmut Vagapov, Renat Nasyrov, Alexander Lopatkin, Ramin Nafikov and Rustem Salikhov. Germany is represented by artists Zilke Haase, Jürgen Umlauff, Ria Geert, Werner Neumann, Reinhard Mundt and Martier Verhoeven from Holland.
The international art project "NEREALISM" includes exposition and theoretical actions aimed at the formation of socially significant landmarks in artistic practice, as well as at unlocking the potential of contemporary art, including abstract art, to society.
The exhibition space of the Gallery of Modern Art will feature about 70 works: painting, graphics, photography, art objects, installations and videos.
The project will run until May 29, 2016.
