Borey Gallery presents an exhibition that reveals to the viewer one of the many facets of the work of theater and film artist Marina Azizyan.
Few people know that over the past few years Marina has been working hard to create unique books, collaborating with the Vita Nova and Rare Book publishing houses. The exhibition at the Borey Gallery will feature sketches for the book of comedies by J.B. Moliere “Tartuffe”, “Don Juan”, “The Bourgeois in the Nobility”, for the book “Sleeping Beauty”, as well as sketches and plans for the performances “The Mermaid” and “ Mazepa."
The last, fourth hall of the gallery is devoted to landscapes and still lifes created in different genres and techniques. Marina Azizyan is fluent in many techniques, and at the exhibition visitors will have the opportunity to see paintings, graphics, assemblages, and textiles by the master.
Marina Azizyan is a St. Petersburg set designer, painter, and graphic artist. She participated in the creation of twenty-five films, designed dozens of dramatic, ballet and opera performances in Russian theaters. Author of graphic and painting works, works of applied art, works using textile collage and patchwork techniques. Exhibitor of numerous exhibitions since 1959. Laureate of the Golden Sofit Prize, awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. The activities of Marina Tsolakovna are stunning. She is inscribed not only in the history of theater, but also in the history of cinema, she is a graphic artist, she is the author of collages and coiffures, dolls and patchwork.
