Best of Russia is an unprecedented project in which both well-known and novice photographers could take part. Over a decade, Best of Russia exhibitions were visited by more than a million people, almost 300,000 photographs and tens of thousands of authors took part in the competition. The youngest participant in the project is six years old, the adult is 92 years old. The main photo exhibition of the country in different years was shown in Paris, Riyadh, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Ulyanovsk.

One of the objectives of the project was the formation of a system for promoting still unknown, but talented photographers. Moreover, over the ten years of the project’s existence, we managed to put together a unique photo archive documenting the life of Russia. ”

The anniversary exhibition of the project is presented in two categories, one hundred best shots in the history of Best of Russia and a timeline that has collected all the most significant events of the decade, illustrated in the photographs of the project.

The competition in 2017 was attended by work in the nomination “People. Developments. Everyday life ”and in the special theme“ Jubilees ”. The focus of the photographers is the 205th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino, the 60th anniversary of the national cosmonautics, the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, the Moscow 870 festival, the 200th anniversary of the artist Ivan Aivazovsky, key political, cultural events and, of course, the personal anniversaries of the heroes photos.
