The exhibition hall of the Andrey Cheglakov Foundation has launched a cycle of cultural and educational events within the framework of the exhibition "In Dialogue with Baudelaire: Matisse, Rodin, Rouault…" , timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Baudelaire. The next event will take place on December 8 at 19:00.
The evening will be opened with a lecture by Mikhail Pogarsky, an artist, poet and writer, one of the founders of the first museum in Russia, The Artist’s Book. Mikhail will talk about what the Artist’s Book, Livre d’artiste and Artist’s book are, and will share a short history of the creation of the Livre d’artiste, its forerunner, birth and development. And also, together with the audience, he will analyze the Livre d’artiste in dialogue with Baudelaire. Mikhail Pogarsky is an organizer and curator of numerous international art projects, a participant in more than 200 art exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
After the lecture, a literary and musical performance "Where poetry turns into music" by Elena Shkurpelo and Iraida Yusupova will take place. Baudelaire’s poems from the collection "Flowers of Evil" and many others will be recited. At the performance, poetry will be integrated into the music in such a way that the audience will get the impression that these two areas of art are inseparable from each other. Iraida Yusupova, a famous composer and film director, graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, is the founder of the genre and the very term "media opera". This year she became the winner of the Anatoly Zverev Prize for the media opera Pink Mouse in the Special Jury Prize nomination. Elena Shkurpelo - actress of the Vedogon-Theater, graduated from the Higher Theater School named after M. Shchepkin. Was among the founders of the Children’s Studio of Theater Arts in Zelenograd near Moscow, where she was also a leading actress, and the director.
Admission is free, by prior registration.
The entire cultural and educational program for the exhibition will be based on the links between music, poetry, painting and theater in order to demonstrate to the audience that no one art form can exist without the other, and innovation in one area or another gives development to other areas. The events within the cycle will be held weekly.
