On October 6, 2023, the National Museum of Art and Photography at the art platform “Gallery on Mosfilm” will present an exhibition of artistic works by Natalia Kabakova, made using the technique of traditional Chinese painting in the styles of gongbi, se-i and moguf.
It is very possible that the reversals of our destiny, like the “butterfly effect,” can echo, if not in the future of the whole world, then at least in a small part of it close to us.
According to one Great Master, “everyone is born from God as an artist,” but over time, people have more important things to do. The creative call weakens as a person gets older, but, as a rule, does not disappear forever.
It so happened that in the life of the artist Natalia Kabakova, the discovery of a new artistic dimension of life was accompanied not by the song of a bugle, but by the light rustle of an eastern breeze. There was no long search for my artistic style and instrument. One day, a Chinese brush easily fluttered into the artist’s outstretched hand and remained there forever.
The exhibition of works by Natalia Kabakova “And the dance of a light brush in love with delicate silk” is a quiet hymn to the beauty of our world and the love that created it. And, of course, this is an inspiring example of a creative feeling blossoming before our eyes, born of a brush dancing in the gunbi style on the delicate silk of the artist’s paintings.
The exhibition is organized with the support of the Russian Foundation for Peace and Development of Art and Photography named after Pyotr Baryshnikov.
