The organizers of the festival are the Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Ivanovo Region, the State Budget Institution of the Ivanovo Region “Plyos State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve”, the Ivanovo branch of the Union of Writers of Russia.
The festival is held in order to identify gifted creative personalities, present their works to the court of the reading public and literary critics, to preserve and promote the Russian language abroad, to unite talented writers through the Russian language; attracting new partners in the field of science, education, culture and, of course, popularizing the work of the writer and poet N. Smirnov.
Musical and poetry events dedicated to the memory of Nikolai Pavlovich Smirnov, meetings with researchers of the writer’s creative heritage will be held as part of the Pleskaya Muse International Festival. A round table will be held with the participation of: Vitaly Shentalinsky - Chairman of the Union of Repressed Writers, author of a series of books: “Ice Captain” (1981); "Home to man and wild beast" (1988); “Slaves of freedom” (1995; 2009); “Denunciation of Socrates” (2001; 2011); “Crime without punishment” (2007); Vladimir Sergeev - UNESCO Press Attaché in Paris, founder and President of the Association for the Promotion of Russian Culture in France “Glagol”, member of the Coordinating Council of the Forum of Russian Compatriots in France, author of theatrical translations from French into Russian (Marc Camoletti “Bestless”, Raffi Chart “My wife’s name is Maurice”, Jean Poiret “The Trouble in the Dovecote,” Antoine Roh “All Over again”, “Love of Hannah”, “The Alien”, “Satan in the Cassock”), poet and translator of Russian poetry, romances and songs in French language (Pushkin, Lermo Comrade, Turgenev, Esenin, Tsvetaeva, Simonov, Yevtushenko, Okudzhava, Vysotsky).
At the festival, participants are expected to meet with the famous poet Andrei Dementiev. The program of the festival includes performances by poets of Russia, as well as from near and far abroad, concerts of classical and sacred music, art song, creative meetings, discussions, presentations of new books.
The Ples festival is designed to demonstrate the international unity of writers from Russia and abroad. The main theme of the works presented at the festival is landscape, philosophical and civic lyrics. The festival will feature: the Union of Writers of Russia, the Union of Writers of Ivanovo, literary associations: "Solar Yarn", "LIRA", "SUNFLOWER", "Spring", Literary Newspaper, New World, Hunting Spans, Arion, Russian Cross, Volga - XXI Century, Verb (France), Zvezda, Yunost (Moscow), "New World" and others.
Festival events will be held in the halls of the Plyos Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve, Levitan Cultural Center, in open areas. The organizing committee of the International Musical and Poetical Festival “Pleskaya Muse” invites creative people to participate in this event.
Arrival of participants on October 4-5. On the morning of October 5, a transfer of festival participants from the railway station in Ivanovo to Ples is organized. Travel and accommodation at the expense of participants. Accommodation in comfortable hotels in Plyos upon prior request.
