With sadness, we notice how the ranks of veterans of the Great Patriotic War are thinning, but their feat does not fade in our hearts. From generation to generation, from heart to heart, their courage and strength are transmitted.

And now new generations of boys and girls are choosing the protection of our country as the business of their lives. New heroes boldly intercept the banner from their older comrades in order to give us a new day and a peaceful sky above their heads with their service. They are hardened in labor and in battle, while feeling an inextricable connection with their homeland, with its historical and heroic past and present, realizing and accepting responsibility for its fate.

Patriotism is not an empty word for very young children, it is a life position, which they confirm with their deeds and actions, continuing the glorious traditions of fidelity to their Fatherland. Finding support from parents and teachers, young patriots are trained in military affairs, deliberately exposing themselves to many hardships and difficulties, comparable to serving in the army, where the entire daily routine is approved by the military, garrison, and guard regulations.

And now, young men are becoming true defenders of the Fatherland. People for whom the defense of the Fatherland is not a profession, but a duty. And the Fatherland is not only Russia, but also every single person, be it parents, friends or just neighbors. This is a courtyard familiar from childhood, and a park near the house, and a bus stop. Everything that seemed so mundane and familiar takes on a special meaning, special significance and importance…

And while our yesterday’s classmates, classmates, and kindergarten friends plow the seas and oceans, skillfully raise planes into the heavens, guard borders and military lines, we can sleep peacefully. There is enough courage in their hearts to protect our tomorrow and give the right to life and future.

Defenders of the Fatherland have no age, and no gender either. One day they will be replaced by the next generation… Generation NEXT…
