For me, a pioneer is, first of all, the image of the discoverer of the new world, a small person, a child, facing reality, opening his eyes, cognizing the world, losing faith in the ideality of this world…

Grandmothers and grandfathers are, on the one hand, people wise in experience and seasoned by life, who know everything and know how, but ask any granny how much she feels, and she will answer that she is 15, 20, 25 years old in her soul, which means the senile image is no different from the image of a young pioneer. At any age, we ask ourselves questions, important questions: what is happiness, what is good, what is bad, how is it right, who we are. We answer them, we understand that we were mistaken, we ask ourselves again and again…

"Talking" still lifes, as I call them, hide similar plots, stories. They can be imagined, invented, thought out. Items on them sometimes become the same heroes as in paintings with people.

The direction in which I work, I myself define as "Rodion painting" or "Rodion painting." This is a kind of combination of Russian folk pictures, medieval miniatures, comics, posters, as well as childhood memories, passions and hobbies. And the choice of plots for pictures is explained by the fact that I try to look at the world around me through the eyes of an adult child. An adult, because there is already enough life experience and knowledge, and a child, because I do not want to stop rejoicing in what is happening, joking about it, joking and naughty. But since there is nothing more boring than constancy, I am actively looking for new forms and languages, while maintaining my own unique style and manner.
