Navy Day in St. Petersburg will be celebrated with a public concert at the Palace Automatic translate
St. Petersburg and the sea are inextricably linked. The element conveyed to the city a piece of its character, freedom of breathing and the breadth of the sea soul. There is one day of the year when all Petersburgers become a little bit sailors. Wearing a vest or captain’s cap, everyone wants to feel like a conqueror of the seas.
July 29, the Day of the Navy of Russia on the Palace Square, residents and guests of the city will receive a long-awaited gift: an eleven-hour set with the broadcast of the parade of warships and concerts of top pop and opera performers. For one day, completely different genres of art - music, literature, dance - interwoven in a single space of time and culture, immerse the viewer in the romantic atmosphere of sea wanderings and discoveries, battles and victories.
At 11.00 a video broadcast of the parade of warships will begin on Palace Square. To see this solemn and breathtaking sight, to feel involvement in the greatness and glory of Russia, to consider real warships, St. Petersburg boys will return from the dachas back to the city. However, mothers and fathers - and especially grandparents - will be happy to keep them company in their walks along the central promenades.
According to established tradition, the Day of the Navy in St. Petersburg from the holiday of sailors turns into a large and spectacular family holiday: with memories of the heroes; with tales and legends about the city and its sea fate; with the sun, burning ice granite, or drizzling warm rain on the pavement; with a feeling of a special day and anticipation of memorable meetings; with a visit to Aurora and a trip to the Icebreaker Krasin; with enthusiasm for the easy gliding of hundreds of tons of steel along lead-gray, living and rebellious Neva water, and, of course, with obligatory initiation into sailors — purchase of a vest, guise, visor with anchors on ribbons — and immediate reincarnation.
At 14.00 everyone will be able to take part in a video tour: large screens will be installed on the Palace Square, on which, thanks to the inimitably rich in reincarnation voices of theater and film actress Anna Geller and People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Burov, an exciting story dedicated to the past and present of the Military Navy of Russia. Soloists of the Mariinsky Theater will give a musical dedication to everyone involved in the past and present glory of the Russian Navy: Alexander Trofimov (tenor), Natalya Pavlova (soprano), Vadim Kravets (bass), Vladimir Celebrovsky (baritone), Grigory Chernetsov (baritone). All works will be accompanied by the SoGlasie youth choir led by Pavel Teplov, the Tauride Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Region, conducted by Mikhail Golikov and artists from the Russian Armed Forces creative team.
At 15.00 on the Palace Square the author-performer of eternal hits about the Nevsky Land, a bard who does not need to be presented in St. Petersburg, will perform. Together with Alexander Rosenbaum, concert halls and stadiums are sung. His work was marked by dozens of awards, among them three Golden Gramophone and thirteen Chansons of the Year. The strength of this success lies not only in the strength of talent and the original performing style, but in extremely honest texts and in the ability to talk about what haunts millions.
A special gift for guests of the holiday will be the performance of the actor, singer and musician, owner of the velvet baritone Evgeny Dyatlov. His incredible charisma, acting talent and piercing voice will make the performance of domestic songs unforgettable.
The solemn and festive atmosphere will be created by musicians of military bands from India, Vietnam and China. The musical visiting card of the Russian Navy will be the Central Concert Model Orchestra named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Russian Navy under the command of Alexei Karabanov. Their “loud music”, intertwined with the memory of generations, will fill the hearts of listeners with a triumph of harmony and strength.
The legend of the Russian pop music of the 90s, Alexander Sklyar and the group "VA-BANK" will offer the audience a mix of front-line songs and melodies from movies. These works are recognizable from the first notes: by a clear, quite tangible movement of the soul, in which everything that is most precious is mixed: memory, experience, the thirst to hug loved ones and breathe with this summer evening fog for as long as possible… Only music can do this.
At 18.00, the festive evening will continue with the performance of the national favorite Oleg Gazmanov and the Squadron group. It’s impossible to calculate all the artist’s awards: the seven-time winner of the Ovation national award, the four-time winner of the Golden Gramophone award, the multiple laureate of the Song of the Year festival, the laureate of international festivals The World Music Awards, Big Apple Music Awards and other prestigious music forums. The artist’s friends joke that for all his prizes and regalia it’s time to build a separate museum. “Sailor”, “Baltic Coast”, “Sails”, “Seven Feet under the Keel” and other songs loved by millions of listeners will decorate the festive evening.
Finally, at 8 p.m. the legendary Turetsky Choir and Soprano Turetsky will appear on the stage. In their repertoire, compositions in more than ten languages, including the chapel, with their voices, artists can replace the whole orchestra. On Palace Square, the vocalists, along with Petersburgers and city guests, will sing popular hits of several generations. The “People’s karaoke” will end at 22.00.
