Nacho Criado returns to the Crystal Palace Automatic translate
The artwork of Nacho Criado again, for the third time, appeared in one of his favorite exhibition hall Retiro, in the Crystal Palace in Madrid, but this time lonely, without the participation of the most experimental artist, who died in April 2010 due to illness.
The first time Nacho Criado (Mengibar, Jaen, 1943) was exhibited in the Crystal Palace in 1977, and ten years later, in 1991, this multidisciplinary artist, playing on the paradox of the concepts of authorship and anonymity, presented the exhibition "parts of water and glass", voluminous work made specifically for this space.
This is the second exhibition when the artist’s son, Gonzalo Criado, is also exhibited at the same exhibition area. “I miss my father, but I think that during this exhibition, as an artist, I grew up great and I understood a lot in my work,” Gonzalo said during a presentation at Retiro Park in Madrid, in the Palacio de Velazquez.
About eighty works are found in this palace of art fans, which span four decades of Criado’s artistic conceptual searches, from his early works of the late sixties to his later works. The great innovator, laureate of the National Prize of Plastic Arts in 2009 and the Gold Medal of Fine Arts in 2008, devoted much time and energy to studying the forms of spatial integration of sculpture and time perception.
