On the channel Public Television of Russia, a new project of Leonid Mlechin “Cinema Truth?!” is launched.

Films of different times of creation - from the 1930s to the end of the 1990s. Many of them, for obvious reasons, no longer shows a single channel, some are shown extremely rarely. Among them there are real masterpieces (Chapaev), and simply hard-made films that are valuable as bright signs of the time in which they were created.
The film is preceded by a commentary by the popular TV presenter Leonid Mlechin, who in his favorite genre of historical investigation talks about the film, its creators, the time in which the film was made, and the time that it is narrated. With his inherent brightness of presentation and deep knowledge of the subject, Mlechin looks at the events of the last century from the perspective of today, thus explaining why it is interesting and useful to watch Films of the Truth today

Sunny summer day of 1936. A young country, enthusiastic, celebrates the 4th anniversary of the Stalinist airship. The legendary commander Kotov and his big noisy family are resting in the country. Darkness gathered in the old house: a beautiful wife, a fidgety daughter, father-in-law - a famous Russian conductor, relatives and friends, housekeepers and neighbors. Fun spills over the edge, and the idea that something in life can change will seem all absurd. They will all be happy forever! And no one, not even the wise Kotov, wants to believe in the inevitable. The fact that this sunny day will end - and will never happen again.
