The festival program began with the performance "Rhinos" presented to the audience after the performances of the participants in the official part of the opening. The artists of the National Theater from the Romanian city of Craiova were entrusted with starting the theater program of the festival. The play, staged by Robert Wilson, an American director, will be shown several times during festival days.

The organizers of the festival traditionally present all areas of art in the program, however, according to Mikhail Bychkov, the artistic director of the Platonov Festival, this time she has a feature - the emphasis is on the theater. The traditional "Platonic program" this year included three performances of Russian theaters - "Epifanovsky Gateways", "Chevengur", "Platonov. Fro. " They are represented by theaters - "Snuffbox", "Near the House of Stanislavsky" and students of the Moscow Art Theater studio.
