CHELYABINSK. On March 29, actress of the Chamber Theater Elena Yevpash presented her directorial and acting work “I am waiting for you, beloved…”. The one-man show, created by Elena Yevlash in collaboration with Nina Amelina, the production designer, became the stage embodiment of the play by Italian authors. It was written by a family duet consisting of the famous master of theater and literature Dario Fo and actress Franka Rame, his wife.
The play was staged thanks to a grant received by the theater from the Union of Theater Workers. The first one-man show took place at the Actor’s House. Elena Yevlash said that her acquaintance with this work took place a long time ago, about two decades have passed since then. The actress was interested in the image of the heroine surprisingly vividly written by the authors.
The events described in the play take only an hour of time, during which the heroine experiences sharp changes in mood and feelings. The reason for what is happening with the heroine are life circumstances that are familiar and close to many of the audience. It seems that this woman has everything to be happy - a wonderful house, two children, a husband. Her family did not save her from loneliness - the heroine does not feel joy from life, she has no peace of mind.
At the time when Elena Yevlash got acquainted with the play, she felt that she did not have enough experience to take on the embodiment of the complex image of this woman. Only now, the actress has the courage to turn to this role. And not only as an actress, but also as a director. Elena admitted that the role was not easy, since this type of woman had not had to play before. When working on the role, the actress had to use not only proven professional methods, because her heroine is a passionate and temperamental woman.
