Previously, he staged a comedy play from the legacy of the great writer - "The fruits of enlightenment."

The first viewers invited to the press show on the main stage on January 21 already managed to get acquainted with the “Russian novel”. Other fans of theatrical art will be able to see the premiere of the play, where the events of Tolstoy’s personal life are organically intertwined with his work, a little later - on January 23rd and 24th.

At the center of these events is the wife of the writer Sofya Andreevna. In her role, the audience will be Evgenia Simonova, an actress beloved by theater-goers, who is worthy of the title of People’s Artist of Russia. In the image of her heroine, she is trying to figure out what place she occupies in her husband’s personal life, and how important the history of literary heroes is for her own life.

The role of the famous Russian writer is performed by Aleksey Sergeev. No less well-known artists of the theater also take part in the performance, among which the audience will see Tatyana Orlova, Alexei Dyakin, Vera Panfilova and other Mayakovka actors, equally beloved. Sergey Barkhin, an artist well-known in the world of theater, worked on the set design for The Russian Novel.
