MOSCOW. On the 14th of November, the first premiere of the opening season, the Sadko opera, took place in the renovated Helikon-Opera building. The creation of the scenery and costumes for the fairy-tale opera epic, written by Rimsky-Korsakov, was entrusted to the artists T. Tulubieva and I. Nezhny.

All premieres of the opera will be held in the unique interior of the large Stravinsky hall, where almost real starry sky will be above the audience. Events taking place on the stage, using modern technology, either transfer the audience along with the hero of the opera to the seabed, or return it back to the ground.

The magnificent acoustics of the hall deserve special admiration, which enables performers to show their skills in all their splendor. Almost all artists of the Helikon-Opera, from masters to the youngest performers, became participants in the opera performance.

It is interesting that for the first time the opera "Sadko" was performed in 1898, also in the hall of this building. Then it was known under the name “Theater on Nikitskaya”, and the performers of the opera were artists of a private opera, owned by S. Mamontov. Now here will again delight the audience "Helikon Opera"
