Three Russian Premieres Take Part in the International Solo Performances Festival "SOLO" Automatic translate
MOSCOW. The shopping mall "On Strastnoy" for the eighth time hosts the international festival of solo performances-monologues "SOLO". Its participants, who came from around the world, brought the 15 best solo performances to the capital. 200 artists claimed to participate in the festival. After the selection of participants by a competent jury, only truly talented, original works remained in the festival program.
Alexander Kalyagin noted that the solo performance prepared by the young artist is a kind of exam for him. If he succeeded, then the actor will be able to confidently play the most complex text in any performance, on any stage.
The first event of the “SOLO” festival, which took place on October 1, on the day of its opening, was the unique Russian premiere - a video version of the performance “Dead Class” created by Tadeusz Kantor, which became the most iconic production of the last century. The basis of this work was fragments of a recording of a performance made in 1976 in Krakow.
Since this record was incomplete, it was supplemented with archival materials found in various theaters, where it was staged in the 1976 - 1991 years. The editing of the recording is accompanied by the author’s words spoken about his famous production. During the premiere screening in Moscow, the text was read by Konstantin Bogomolov.
Three more new works by Russian directors take part in the festival. The next day, the premiere of the work of Vladimir Klimenko “Pushkin: Tales for Adults…” took place. On October 4, Yevgeny Stychkin presented the solo performance “The Meek” - directed by Pavel Safonov, and the third premiere will take place at the end of the festival. Evgeny Grishkovets will present his new creation - the play “Whisper of the Heart”.
The program SOLO-2015 involves several more solo performances performed by Russian artists.
