Fans of Russian and documentary films have lost the talk show “Watching… Discussing,” which was broadcast on the Culture channel for 5 years. The reason for closing the program remained unknown.
In 2010, director Sergei Miroshnichenko and producer Georgy Libergal, curators of documentary programs at the Moscow International Film Festival, launched the “Watch… Discuss” project to introduce the mainstream audience to the best documentary films that were previously available only to film festival audiences. During this time, 5 transmission seasons came out. More than 100 of the brightest documentaries from directors from around the world were shown, including about 20 Russian ones.
The latest issue, aired, talked about the film "Circus Dynasty" by Danish director Anders Riis-Hansen. The film was released in 2014 and tells the story of the two most famous circus families in Northern Europe.
The management of the channel announced that in the new season the program will not appear on the air, and invites viewers to watch the released episodes on the channel’s website.
