KIEV. From May 29 to June 7, fourteen cities of Ukraine will host free screenings of the best cartoons and films of 2014 for a young audience. The films will be broadcast within the framework of the II Children Film Festival festival of film art for children and adolescents.

The competition program of the film festival is seven different genres of European paintings. Among them is an Oscar nominee, the animated film "Song of the Sea", which is based on colorful North European folklore. Another picture in the competition is the new German film version of the famous fairy tale “Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi.

Young viewers will also see a touching Danish film, The Boy Ant, telling about a teenager who acquired superpowers after being bitten by an ant. The film “Felix” will tell the guests of the festival about a 14-year-old boy who dreams, like his dead father, of becoming a famous jazz saxophonist. But in order to fulfill his dream, the boy will have to go against the will of his mother, but thanks to the support of his friends, he will accomplish the impossible.

The children’s film “Butch” tells the story of how children try to maintain their parents ’relationships by recording video instructions for a happy family life especially for them. “Jorgen + Anna = Love” is a story about the first love of a 10-year-old girl who realized what competition is. And the film “Eddie, Go Forward” is a story about how in the 70s a small Belgian town was shocked by two incredible events at once: a large supermarket opened and a local boy decided to break the record of the famous cyclist.

The best picture of the "Child Film Festival" competition will be determined by spectator voting, which will be held in all cities through which the festival will take place. Outside the competition, viewers will be presented with a retrospective of silent films by the famous comedian Baster Keaton, whose 120th anniversary is celebrated this year around the world. A selection of domestic animated films from different years and the French adventure film Belle and Sebastian will also be shown.

In addition, as part of the Cinema Kids project, during the festival, master classes for children on acting, voicing cartoons and video blogs will be held. The Children Film Festival will be held in Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Vinnitsa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Zaporozhye, Mariupol, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Krivoy Rog, Lviv and Lutsk.
