Winners of the DOKer Film Festival Announced Automatic translate
MOSCOW. From May 22 to 26, screenings were held in Moscow as part of the International Documentary Film Festival “DOKer”. Paintings participating in the contest were presented by documentaries from 32 countries of the world. The festival demonstrates independent authorial world documentary film in all its manifestations - from social blockbusters to poetic film narration, from popular science films to arthouse, from newsreels to mock-commentaries, from non-standard and experimental forms to classic documentary films.
In the competition for full-length documentary films, the Chinese film “Harvester” directed by Ye Zuya became the winner of the Grand Prix. The prize for best directing was awarded to the Polish film "Fish or We" directed by Maciej Glowinski. The work of Oriol Martinez and Enrique Riba “View from below” (Spain) was marked by a special mention of the jury. The award for the best sound was received by the film "Waves" (Egypt) directed by Ahmed Nur. Javier Corcoura’s work “I still exist” (Peru) received a prize for the best installation. The film “Silence of the Flies” (Venezuela) by Eliezero Arias recognized the best camera work by the jury.
This year the jury of the feature film competition was Russian director Viktor Kosakovsky, film critic from Denmark Tue Steen Müller and his colleague from Greece Vasilis Ekonomu, as well as the Polish cameraman Mateusz Skalski.
The winner of the short films competition was Alexander Libert’s “Scars of Cambodia” (Cambodia - France). Special mention was made by the jury of the short film the films “A hole in the sky” by Antonio Tibaldi and Alex Laura (Somalia - France) and “The Black Sheep” by Christian Cheramy (Great Britain).
The jury of short films this year was directed by Alexei Vakhrushev (Russia) and Peter Kerekesh (Slovakia), producer Pedro Fernandez Duarte (Portugal), film critic and historian Anna Niman (USA).
The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the DOKer Prize will take place in September, during the second stage of the festival, which will include repeated shows of the winning paintings with the personal presence of the authors.
