Film Festival kicked off in the capital of Ukraine # KISFF2015 Automatic translate
KIEV. Today, April 22, in the capital’s cinema "Kinopanorama" the opening of the largest Ukrainian short film festival Kyiv International Short Film Festival (aka # KISFF2015) took place. The event began with a program of festival hits - films-winners of prestigious international film screenings.
In Ukraine, Kyiv International Short Film Festival is held for the fourth time. About two hundred paintings from all over the world, a filmmaking workshop, a film school, two cinemas and one open-air observation deck combined this year’s festival, which will be held from April 22 to 26. The cinema Kinopanorama will remain the main location of the cinema, while retrospectives will be held at the Cinema House, and additional screenings will be organized at the Rakushka summer amphitheater located on the territory of the Mariinsky Park.
On the opening day of the festival, the audience was presented an almanac consisting of 70 one-minute paintings entitled "The Movie That Cinema Buyes." This unique work was created by musicians, directors, activists and poets, including Ben Rivers, Nicholas Rog, Mark Cousins, Portishead, Efterkland and others. The purpose of creating such a project was to save the independent cinema Cube Microplex, located in the UK.
In total, 200 films are presented in the film forum program, which are sorted into 25 blocks. These are mainly films of foreign origin, some of them combined into national blocks, such as Oceania, Swedish Panorama, Room in Bucharest, and Scottish Short Films. Other paintings were distributed by thematic collections on significant topics - humor, love, family, relationships, avant-garde and so on. The festival also did not bypass Ukrainian films; this year, in addition to the traditional “National Panorama”, the organizers presented a new program “Short Metrics”, consisting of Ukrainian short films for children.
Also of the innovations # KISFF2015 is a program for directors “Short Doctoring”, implemented jointly with the company “435 FILMS”. The main goal of this project is to help novice directors and producers to create short films. Consultations and master classes will be held by such well-known experts as Viktor Prikhodko, Svetlana Zinovieva, Oleg Kokhan, Denis Ivanov and Elena Fetisova.
