OMSK. On April 14, the opening ceremony of the festival-competition "Theater Spring-2015", which brought together the best works of amateur theaters in Omsk, was solemnly held in the Palace of Culture and Arts. The festival’s theatrical composition “Understand the poet…”, shown by the Theater “Overcoming”, received several honorary awards at non-professional theater festivals.

This year 23 theaters will become participants in the festival program, among them three groups will show their work for the first time. For six weeks, on various stages of the city, amateur theater artists will show their acting skills to Omsk spectators.

Not only the audience will evaluate the work of the actors. A professional jury was created, chaired by writer and theater critic Sergei Denisenko. Theater critics of V. Kalashnikov and L. Pershin will help him. In addition to eight nominations in which the winners of the competition will be determined, the jury also established a special prize.

Since the opening “Theater Spring” is dedicated to two important events at once - the anniversary of the Victory and the Year of Literature, the program contains a substantial number of military-themed performances. The debutants of the festival, the VIT Theater of Poetry, will present the stage embodiment of Robert Rozhdestvensky’s poem “Requiem” - “This is necessary - alive!..”.

The Grani Theater Studio will show the play “Tomorrow Was the War”, staged according to the story of Boris Vasiliev. Students of the library technical school created a poetic composition, using the poems of poets who died in the war - "The Last Poems." And there will also be the poem “The Moat” by Andrey Voznesensky and the recollections of the inhabitants of Leningrad, Chekhov and Gogol, Akhmatov and Vysotsky.

The awards to the participants of “Theater Spring-2015” will be presented on the closing day of the festival - May 22.
