BEIJING. This year, two domestic films were included in the main competition program of the Beijing Film Festival, in total six films will represent Russia. In total, 930 works from 90 countries will be shown at the festival.

It is worth noting that the film "The Battle of Sevastopol" will be released in wide distribution on April 2. The military drama tells the story of Lyudmila Pavlyuchenko, the most productive female sniper in world history, who fought on the side of the Soviet army during World War II. The first pre-premiere screening of the tape took place at the 96th Russian International Film Market held in early March, where film industry experts gave the film a very good rating.

The second Russian film in the framework of the main competition of the film festival is “White White Night”. The first premiere of this film took place in the summer of 2014 at the Russian film screening “Kinotavr”. The film tells about a young guy who came from Moscow to St. Petersburg for a concert and disappeared under unclear circumstances. A private detective is sent to search for him from the capital, who, during the investigation, finds out that the guy was drawn into a criminal story.

The program of special screenings of the Beijing Film Festival includes the film by Alexander Mitta "Shagal-Malevich." The film “Trip to Mother” by Mikhail Kosyrev-Nesterov takes part in a parallel program of the film forum. Adele Exarcopoulos, the owner of the Golden Palm Branch, plays the main role in it. Another picture outside the competition is “The White Nights of the Postman Aleksey Tryapitsyn” by Andrei Konchaloisky. Last year, the film won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. The main feature of the picture is that almost all the roles in it were played by unprofessional actors.

As part of the gala premiere of the Beijing Film Festival from Russia, the film "Duhless 2" directed by Roman Prygunov will be presented. The names of the winners of this year’s festival will be announced on April 23. Traditionally, awards will be presented in ten categories.
