VOLGOGRAD. Within two weeks, residents of Volgograd will be able to enjoy the best copyright documentaries and short films. So, within the framework of the Russian-Italian film festival RIFF from March 19 to 30 at three venues of the city - in the art gallery "Trapeze", in the creative space "IKRA" and the cinema "Chance" will be shown screenings of paintings of modern Italian cinema. Also, sessions will be held in other cities of Russia - in Volzhsky (youth center "Youth of Volzhsky") and in Kamyshin (center of culture and leisure "Friendship").
The regional committee of culture noted that all shows for the Russian audience will be premiere. As part of the festival, the organizers will show the new Sicilian drama “On This Side” by directors Daniele De Plano and Gianni Cardillo, the comedy “Small Business in the South” by the original Italian director Rocco Papaleo and other recently released films. Also at the festival, the screening of the film Giuseppe Stazi and Giancarlo Fontana "Love Today" will be held again. Also, as part of the event, Volgograd residents will be shown the Russian premiere of Tatyana Danilyants’s film “The Garden that is Hidden,” in which the author tells about an unknown, non-tourist Venice. Previously, the film was already presented at the Venice Film Festival. Another film in preparation for the show is the documentary “Italiani Veri” directed by Marco Raffaini. In it, viewers will learn about the success of Italian pop singers in Russia and in the post-Soviet space. In the program "Retrospective" viewers will be shown a picture of the participant of the 66th Venice Film Festival - the Russian-Italian film "Ten Winters".
As part of the short films program, there will be screenings of thematic collections of paintings by contemporary Italian directors and an unusual collection of fabulous stories “Italian fantasies”. All short films that will be shown at the festival are winners or participants of various film festivals in Europe and Italy.
