This year, the Pushkin Theater Festival, which opened in Pskov on February 5, for the twelfth time brought together artists, directors, art historians and spectators who are not indifferent to the art of the theater. The first director to present his work at the festival was Igor Yatsko, artistic director of the creative laboratory working at the School of Dramatic Art. His show took place in the drama to them. The artists from the capital brought to the festival the tale of Oscar Wilde, considered the most metaphorical work in his work - “The Fisherman and His Soul”. The premiere of this performance took place in May last year, in the chamber hall "SDI". Before the performance was shown, Igor Yatsko had a meeting with reporters, where he talked about his work opening the festival and his understanding of Wilde’s tale.

The director said that he was coming to the festival for the ninth time. It is very pleasant that the scope of the festival is gradually expanding. Now in his program are presented not only productions of works created by Pushkin, but also of other authors. Igor Yatsko noted that the work of Pushkin and Wilde has a common aesthetic basis - the desire for beauty.

On the day the festival program began, another interesting event took place - in the TSEH gallery, the artist Alexander Stroilo showed his series of silhouettes, created as illustrations for “Jokes from the Life of Pushkin” written by Harms. Viewers saw the artist’s work in the form of a shadow theater, where paper silhouettes made by the artist were used.

Each spectator will be able to find a genre of interest in the festival program - festival participants have brought musical and children’s performances. It will be possible to get acquainted with the works of famous guests - the Taganka Theater, who arrived with the play "No Years", and the Moscow Youth Theater.
