Khanty-Mansiysk. The XIII International Festival of Cinematic Debuts "Spirit of Fire" on February 25 in Khanty-Mansiysk summed up the results of this year. According to the representative of the press service of the governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, this year the event was the largest in all 13 years of its existence.
This year, the organizers of the festival used a record number of cinema halls to display paintings, the number of which has grown by one and a half times compared to last year. A total of 16 new venues were opened for film screenings - in Beloyarsky, Nefteyugansk, Berezovsky, Soviet, October, Surgut districts, as well as in Nyagan, Yugorsk, Pyt-Yakh, Nizhnevartovsk, Surgut and Khanty-Mansiysk itself. “Such a vast geography has never been before,” said a spokesman for the festival.
He also said that the success of the current film forum is largely due to its main theme - the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. War veterans and home front workers became honored guests of the film festival; at the ceremony of declaring the winners, they, along with movie stars, walked along the carpet. Guests and participants of the film forum, including the famous French actress Catherine Deneuve, who was also present at the festival, greeted war veterans with loud applause.

The Silver Taiga by a jury led by Alexei Fedorchenko awarded the French film Young Poet directed by Damien Manivel. In turn, “Bronze Taiga” rightfully went to the Hungarian film “For Inexplicable Reason” directed by Gabor Reis.
According to the rules of the film forum, the winner of the Russian Debuts Competition was determined by spectator voting. Also, in the framework of the Russian competition, the prize of the president of the festival “Flowers of Taiga hope” was awarded, it was received by the director of the drama “Correction Class” Ivan Tverdovsky.
