MOSCOW. In the repertoire of the legendary Sovremennik, the play “Two on a Swing” will reappear from January 23rd. For the first time this name appeared on the poster of Sovremennik in 1962, becoming the beginning of the directorial career of Galina Volchek. Over the years since the first production of the play by W. Gibson, Galina Volchek became a famous director. For many years she has been heading Sovremennik, where her career as an actress and then a director began.

In the first production of the play “Two on a Swing”, the audience saw a wonderful acting duet - the main roles were performed by Tatyana Lavrova and Mikhail Kazakov. The second pair in the play were no less talented theater artists - L. Tolmacheva and G. Frolov. The end of the seventies was marked by the appearance in the production of a popular play by new performers - Elena Yakovleva and Nikolai Popkov. Alexander Kakhun also participated in the play, playing in turn with Popkov.

"Two on a swing" remained on the theater billboard for almost thirty years. Now Galina Volchek again decided to turn to a play that belongs to the number of theater legends. The names of today’s leading actors are well known to the audience. - Chulpan Khamatova and film actor Kirill Safonov, invited to the role of lawyer, are involved in the play.

In her interview given to reporters before the premiere, the director said that she had a desire to see the love story told in the play from today. Volchek did not copy her old work, but did not begin to add chips to the play that are currently fashionable.

However, modern scenery invented by Pavel Kaplevich appeared in the play, and Damir Ismagilov used the original stage lighting. The rest should be done by the talent of artists who embody genuine human feelings on stage.
