NOVOSIBIRSK. The audience reacted differently to the premiere of the play “The Decameron” presented on the stage of the Red Torch Theater, created by the director Vasily Senin, invited from Pskov. Although there was only an adult audience in the hall (the performance has an age limit), some viewers considered the events unfolding on the stage to be “obscene buffoonery”. However, most viewers infectiously laughed at the funny situations that occur in each of the short stories selected by Vasily Senin for production, evaluating the performance as "a hymn to freedom and love."

The stage designer Ilya Kutyansky worked on the design of the scene, turning it into the likeness of the famous Coliseum. For each short story included in the play, costume designer Fagily Selskaya created costumes that emphasized the characters of the characters in the production.

The creators of the play boldly add modern jokes and buzzwords to the text written in the Renaissance. Each of the short stories replacing each other is told very expressively and boldly.

The director himself says about the play that it was created at the intersection of genres - it combines comedy, musical and classical drama. According to Vasily Senin, when choosing novels for staging, he was guided by his own thoughts. To many issues related to morality and freedom of choice, our contemporaries come up with more hypocrisy than before.

With the artists of the "Red Torch" Vasily Senin has already met. In 2009, he staged the play "Locust" in the theater.
